Short, and in plain language. If anything here is unclear, email sam@obeliskone.co.uk and ask.
Obelisk One is an AI visibility practice based in Aberdeen, Scotland, run by Sam Finlayson. We are the data controller for the information described on this page. Contact: sam@obeliskone.co.uk.
We collect only what you type into the snapshot or contact form: your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and whatever you tell us about the business.
We do not ask for anything else, and we do not buy or add information about you from anywhere else.
We sometimes send a business a short Visibility Snapshot it did not ask for. If that is how you found us, here is what we hold and where it came from.
We collect a business name, a named person's role and business email address, and publicly available information about the business. It comes from the company's own website, Companies House, professional and accreditation registers, and public directories. We do not use personal email addresses, we do not buy lists, and we contact registered companies, limited liability partnerships and public bodies rather than sole traders and individuals.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: we are offering a business service to a business that plausibly needs it, and the information we use is what that business already publishes about itself. You can object at any time and we will stop, delete the record and not contact you again. One line in reply is enough, and you do not need to give a reason.
To reply to you, to produce the snapshot, and to follow up about it. That is the whole purpose. We do not use it for anything unrelated and we do not sell it or share it with anyone else.
Submitting the form sends your details to us by email, and stores them in our own database so we can keep track of who we owe a reply to.
The services that handle it on our behalf are FormSubmit (delivers the email), Supabase (stores the record), Vercel (hosts this site), and Google Workspace (receives and stores our email). They process it for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
If you become a client, for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, which is what UK business and tax records require.
If you do not, we delete your details within twelve months of the last time we spoke — or sooner if you ask. If we contacted you first and you did not reply, we delete the record after twelve months. If you tell us not to contact you again we keep only your email address, so that we do not contact you again by accident.
This site sets no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. There is no third-party tracking on it. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives a request from your browser when a page loads.
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to us contacting you. Email sam@obeliskone.co.uk and we will do it within a month, usually much sooner. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If this page changes materially we will update the date below. Last updated 6 October 2026.
Email us directly and we will answer. No form required for this one.
